A security breach caused widespread shutdowns of websites in Finland this week.

For example, the websites of the National Land Survey of Finland, the oikeus.fi service, the University of Jyväskylä and the Central Finland Welfare Region were down for several days.

The State Communications Technology Center closed the pages for safety reasons.

The cause of the security breach was a serious security vulnerability found in the PHP programming language, which is used on websites.

The vulnerability could affect up to 70 percent of the world’s websites.

Many organizations shut down websites around the world as a precaution.

Organizations and companies need to update their website software.

It may take many weeks to fix all websites.

Speaker of the Parliament Jussi Halla-aho was a guest on Yle’s Ykkösaamu on Saturday.

Halla-aho said that some MPs are very concerned about intrusions into MPs’ homes.

There have been signs in the apartments of many MPs that someone has visited the apartment.

The intruder could be, for example, an agent of a foreign state who wants to intimidate Finnish decision-makers. The police are investigating the cases.

Halla-aho says that MPs know that the matter must be approached calmly.

Security measures for MPs have been increased.

Pensions

Pensions will increase next year.

The Ministry of Social Affairs and Health confirmed on Friday that the earnings-related pension index will increase by 2.6 percent at the beginning of next year.

The national pension will increase by 2.3 percent.

The reason for the increases is inflation. This means that prices have risen faster than before. The price of fuel has risen a lot, and that affects many prices.

The Finnish Taxpayers’ Confederation calculates that the increase will affect pensioners equally.

For example, an earnings-related pension of 2,000 euros will increase by approximately 52 euros per month.

There will be no major changes to taxes, which is why the increase will be reflected in pensioners’ accounts.

Approximately 1.6 million Finns receive a pension.
