Hailuoto Bridge

First, some news about traffic.

The Hailuoto bridge and road were opened on Monday.

You can now drive to Hailuoto Island. The journey takes only 10 minutes.

There are two long bridges on the road. The rest of the road is built into the sea on sand and rocks.

The new road is over 8 kilometers long. It is the longest such road across the sea in Finland.

Ferry service to Hailuoto is ending. The ferry ran to Hailuoto for almost 60 years.

The Hailuoto bridge and road were opened on Monday.

The construction work took about two and a half years.

Construction went well and the road was completed ahead of schedule.

Parcel duties

Now, some news about the economy.

Ordering cheap goods from outside the EU is becoming more expensive.

The reason is a new customs duty that will take effect on Wednesday.

The minimum fee is 3 euros for each product.

The reason is that Chinese online stores are really popular.

The EU wants to reduce the number of parcels.

Last year, over 50 million packages arrived in Finland. Almost all of the packages came from China.

The most famous Chinese online store is Temu.

Ordering cheap goods from outside the EU will become more expensive on Wednesday.

The change will affect the purchases of many Finns.

Online stores add a new customs fee to the order price.

The buyer doesn’t need to worry about this.

Demolition Art Exhibition

Finally, some news about art.

A new demolition art exhibition has opened in Helsinki.

Demolition art is art that artists create in empty buildings.

It transforms the building into an art world.

This exhibition celebrates the fact that demolition art has been made for 10 years.

Artist Mia Kolari’s work is Soft Revolution.

Kolari says that everyone in the exhibition is allowed to be who they are.

“Should people be allowed to be who they are? Some are fragile, some are soft. Here in the room, when you come here, that’s enough.” You are just who you are.”

A new demolition art exhibition has opened in Helsinki.

The exhibition is in the premises of the former University of Art and Design Helsinki.

There are works by over 50 artists.
