Middle East and Economy
First, the economic impact on the Middle East.
The US and Iran have agreed to begin negotiations for a permanent peace.
Economists say the agreement could also return Finland’s economy to growth. The agreement could open the Strait of Hormuz to traffic again.
Iran closed the strait in March, severely disrupting global oil and cargo transport.
The economic effects of the agreement may also begin to be seen in Finland in the autumn. Government bond interest rates, energy prices and inflation may fall. Household interest rates may also fall.
Peace between the US and Iran could ease the economy around the world.
Patria and Valmet

Training in Uusikaupunki will begin in the autumn, and production will begin in full swing at the beginning of next year.
Valmet will begin calling back those who have been laid off in the fall.
