First, the news topic is hantavirus.
There have been 6 confirmed cases of hantavirus infection in humans worldwide. 3 people have died from hantavirus. All cases are linked to a Dutch ship that was sailing in the Atlantic Ocean. The ship stopped at islands. Passengers and crew members became ill along the way.
2 Finnish people may have been exposed to Hantavirus. They were on a plane with 1 sick person for a short time.
Hantavirus is a disease spread by rodents, such as rats and voles. The World Health Organization says that hantavirus is not easily transmitted from person to person.
Demonstrations

The police are investigating assaults that occurred on May Day at an event organized by the far-right Sinimusta movement in Tampere.
Blue and Black protesters assaulted a young woman who was protesting against the demonstration. Many of the far-right protesters were wearing masks. That is why the police have not identified the perpetrators of the assault.
There were also 2 other assaults at the Tampere demonstration, which the police are investigating.
After the events in Tampere, there has been a discussion about whether protesters are allowed to wear masks.
Prime Minister Petteri Orpo supports a ban on masks at demonstrations.

Russia celebrated Victory Day over the weekend. Victory Day in Russia celebrates the victory over Nazi Germany in World War II.
There were no big celebrations in Moscow on Victory Day. Russia feared that Ukraine would attack Moscow with drones.
The US President suggested that Russia and Ukraine agree to a ceasefire for 3 days. Russia and Ukraine agreed to this. Russia did not promise to extend the ceasefire after 3 days. Ukraine says that Russia has violated the ceasefire.

Next up is sports. The finals are being played in the Finnish Ice Hockey Championship. The finals will be played between Tappara from Tampere and Kookoo from Kouvola. Kookoo is leading the final series 3-2. 4 wins are needed to win the Finnish championship. The next game is tomorrow, Monday, in Kouvola.
The World Ice Hockey Championships begin next week in Switzerland. The Finnish team’s first match is on Friday against Germany.
