A shooting has occurred in the US capital, Washington.
A man tried to enter the ballroom of the Hilton Hotel, where the White House Correspondents’ Dinner was being held. US President Donald Trump was present. The president was quickly removed from the venue. He was not injured.
A man shot a Secret Service agent who was blocking him from entering the ballroom. The agent was not injured because he was wearing a bulletproof vest. Authorities arrested the man.
The shooter is a man in his 30s. The motive for the shooting is unknown.

This week, the government decided on the use of Finnish state funds.
The government plans to save money on, for example, health services and state administration.
Many health service customer fees are rising. For example, people have to pay more money at health centers than before.
The government also decided on areas where the state will invest more money. For example, the government will increase the household deduction. You can get the household deduction if you hire a cleaner for your home, for example.

Clothing designer Vuokko Nurmesniemi has died. She was 96 years old. Nurmesniemi was well known in many different countries.
Vuokko Nurmesniemi designed clothes for Marimekko in the 1950s. In Finland, she is best known for the Jokapoika shirt, which has been made for 60 years.
Nurmesniemi designed clothes for women that were different from what they had been used to. Nurmesniemi wanted the clothes to feel comfortable to wear.
Vuokko Nurmesniemi received many awards. She was an academician of the arts.

A rare animal visitor was in Ostrobothnia this week.
At least 1 harbour porpoise was seen in Mustasaari. This is rare. The harbour porpoise is endangered in Finland and may not have visited Ostrobothnia before.
The fin whale is a small whale. It is the only whale species in the Baltic Sea.
A porpoise was swimming this week off the coast of Ostrobothnia and in the Kyrönjoki River. Many people came to see the porpoise. Researchers also observed the porpoise.
