Drones

This week, the big news was when drones fell in Finland. Last Sunday, 2 drones fell in southeastern Finland. The third drone was found in Parikkala on Tuesday. The drones did not cause any damage.

The drones were Ukrainian, and they fell in Finland by accident. The drones may have had a defect. Ukraine has carried out drone attacks on Russia. Drones have previously fallen by accident in, for example, Estonia and Latvia.

A drone is an aircraft that does not have a human on board.

Accident at the kindergarten

The next news item is about an accident that happened at a children’s daycare center.

A serious accident occurred at a daycare center in Vantaa about a week ago. A 2-year-old child was injured in the accident and died on Thursday. The child was trapped between a bed and a wall when a daycare center employee accidentally lifted the bed up.

The City of Vantaa says that safety in daycare centers will be improved. In the future, children will not be allowed in the room when beds are raised.

The police are investigating the accident in Vantaa.

Artemis 2

Now, news about space travel.

The US launched a rocket to the moon this week. The flight is called Artemis 2. There will be 4 people on the lunar mission. The rocket is intended to orbit the moon, but people will not land on the lunar surface. The flight will last about 10 days.

The last time a human walked near the moon was over 50 years ago. The USA plans to send a human to the moon’s surface within a few years.

Easter

People gathered in St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican to listen to the Pope.

Easter was celebrated this weekend.

Pope Leo XIII, the leader of the Catholic Church, celebrated Easter Sunday mass at the Vatican. He also gave his traditional blessing to the city and the world. Tens of thousands of people were in St. Peter’s Square to listen to the pope.

Pope Leo said that wars must end. The Pope asked people to believe in a better world.

On Easter night, the Pope celebrated Mass in St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican. On Friday, Pope Leo participated in the Via Crucis, or Way of the Cross, procession in Rome.

Pope Leo presided over the Easter celebrations for the first time. He was elected pope last May.
