Taru Kyllönen from Vantaa has been looking for work since December.

Taru Kyllönen says that finding a job seems difficult.

This is the bakery of the Deaconess Institute in Kallio, Helsinki.

Communion breads, or öylätti, have been made here for 100 years.

The bakery produces approximately 800,000 pastries every year.

The breads are handmade from wheat flour and water.

The most important thing is the appearance and the beautiful crucifix pattern on the bread.

Baker Pia Greus says that the pastries don’t taste good at all.

“They don’t taste like much, but that’s not the most important thing for us.”

The Deaconess Institute’s bakery has been making communion bread for 100 years.
