The US and Israel launched an attack on Iran on Saturday. The attacks killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
President Trump says an attack on Iran could take four weeks.
The US goal is to overthrow the current Iranian regime and install new leaders in the country.
The US and Israel have continued attacks on Iran.
Iran has responded to the attack with retaliatory strikes.
Iran has attacked Israel and US military bases in many Middle Eastern countries. There have been explosions in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Doha and Kuwait, for example.
Finns in the Middle East
Thousands of Finnish tourists have been stranded in the Persian Gulf region.
Due to the airstrikes, flights have been canceled and airports have been closed in several countries in the region.
There are currently perhaps around 3,000 Finns in the Persian Gulf region and Israel.
The largest number of Finns live in the United Arab Emirates and Qatar. There are approximately 70 Finns in Iran.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges people to remain calm.
Finnish Eurovision

Finland’s representative for Eurovision has been selected.
Finland is represented by singer Pete Parkkonen and violinist Linda Lampenius. They will perform the song Liekinheitin at Eurovision.
Finland’s Eurovision representative was selected at the New Music Competition on Saturday.
Parkkonen and Lampenius were favorites of experts and the public.
The UMK final was watched by a record audience. Over 2.5 million Finns watched it on television.
The Eurovision Song Contest will be held in May in the Austrian capital, Vienna.
