Kela employees are being threatened

First, some news about working life.

Kela employees face a lot of bad behavior and threats. There are several hundred threatening situations every year.

There are even more different observations about safety.

About half of the threats occur in telephone service. A third occur in customer service at Kela service points.

Employees report every threat. Safety Director Sami Niinikorpi says that around 2,000 of these are reported each year.

Kela employees are often threatened, even though calls are recorded and many service points have guards.

Kela will report serious threatening situations to the police. In addition, a change to the regulation is now being considered, whereby the name of the Kela employee will not appear in the support decision.

Bad economic news

Elevator company Kone begins change negotiations.

The negotiations involve 840 people at the Hyvinkää factory and in the company’s product development. A maximum of 70 positions will be reduced in Finland.

An increasingly large part of the company’s operations is the maintenance of elevators and escalators.

Furniture stores Asko and Sotka closed their doors yesterday after the owner, Indoor Group, filed for bankruptcy.

In bankruptcy, the company’s assets are handed over to creditors.

The bankruptcy involves 74 stores and approximately 500 employees.

Birth defects

Finally, maternity news.

During childbirth, a woman may suffer injuries. In addition, it may be difficult to hold in urine or have difficulty defecating.

Many Finnish women seek help from neighboring Sweden. The women feel that symptoms are not properly diagnosed in Finland.
