The first topic is Greenland.
The USA has started talking again about wanting to annex Greenland to the USA.
US President Donald Trump first spoke about Greenland about a year ago.
Now Trump has started talking about Greenland in a threatening manner again. He says that the US needs Greenland for security reasons.
Trump says that if the US doesn’t get Greenland, Russia or China will take it. That’s why the US wants Greenland.
Trump’s remarks have Denmark and European leaders worried. Experts and leaders of various countries say that the military alliance NATO will face a crisis if the US takes over Greenland.

Next, news of a death in a nursing home.
The police are investigating the death of an elderly man, which occurred in a nursing home in Turku.
The elderly man died in a private nursing home in Turku at the beginning of December.
The case is exceptional because the elderly man was tied to a chair and may have strangled himself with the chair’s straps.
The police suspect that a crime may have been committed while caring for the elderly person.
The police are investigating whether the nursing home staff acted improperly or whether some other crime has occurred.
The nursing home is also investigating what happened to the elderly person.

Espoo bridge accident verdict
Now the news about the Espoo bridge accident verdict.
The Western Uusimaa District Court issued a verdict this week regarding a bridge accident that occurred in Espoo about 3 years ago.
A temporary metal bridge collapsed in Tapiola, Espoo, and many people were injured.
The court sentenced the project manager of a scaffolding company to a suspended sentence of 5 months for causing danger and 19 counts of aggravated assault.
The court says the project manager failed to ensure the durability of the bridge. Six (6) schoolchildren suffered permanent injuries.

Frost
Finally, the topic is frost. It has been really cold in Finland this week. In Lapland, it has been 30 degrees and even 40 degrees below zero in some places.
Finnair has canceled flights to Kittilä and Rovaniemi due to the freezing weather. It has been so cold in the north that there is not enough anti-icing for aircraft.
The cold weather has also hampered the operations of ski resorts.
