Yle’s party poll shows that the SDP is still in first place. The SDP’s support was 23.9 percent but decreased slightly.

The National Coalition Party is in second place. The National Coalition Party’s support rose to 19.6 percent.

The Finns Party’s support is 15.1 percent. Support is above 15 percent for the first time since March.

The Center’s support is 13.5 percent.

The order of the parties has remained the same since the summer.

Then economic news.

Telecom operator Telia Finland begins change negotiations.

There are approximately 2,000 positions in negotiations. 200 jobs may be reduced. The changes do not apply to customer service or Telia Stores.

Telia has approximately 3,000 employees in Finland.

Posti plans to reduce up to 170 permanent jobs. The Helsinki post office will increase machine sorting, and up to 80 jobs will be reduced.

Posti is closing stores. Santa Claus’ main post office in Rovaniemi and Helsinki’s main post office will remain open.

Stores are experimenting with new 2D codes that contain more information than barcodes.

Food company Fazer is among the first to do so. Fazer has placed the codes on a test batch of around 100,000 candy bags.

The new codes allow the journey and information of products to be tracked more accurately than before.

Katja Santala from Fazer says that, for example, product safety is improving.

- And a great benefit for the consumer is that, for example, the sale of an expired product at the checkout can be prevented using this code.

Stores are experimenting with new 2D codes. The QR-like codes contain information such as best-before dates and manufacturing batches.
