3 asylum seekers from Russia came to Finland on Sunday. The men crossed the border in the afternoon. On Saturday, 55 people from Russia came to Inari’s Raja-Joosepi border station.

Raja-Jooseppi is currently the only border crossing on Finland’s eastern border that is open. Other border crossings are closed because Russia is directing people from other countries to Finland.

Prime Minister Petteri Orpo says that Finland is considering closing the eastern border completely. Orpo said during Yle’s interview with the Prime Minister that the government might take new measures if Russia sends more asylum seekers to Finland.

Prime Minister Petteri Orpo emphasizes that the government’s most important task is to take care of Finland’s security.

Israel and Hamas

Israel and the terrorist organization Hamas released prisoners. Hamas released 13 Israeli hostages and several citizens of other countries on Saturday evening. Israel released 39 Palestinian prisoners.

Israel and Hamas plan to release more prisoners later Sunday or Monday. Israel and Hamas previously agreed that both would release prisoners. At the same time, Israel and Hamas agreed that there will be a short ceasefire in Gaza.

Hamas attacked Israel in October and took about 240 hostages. A total of about 1,400 people died in the Hamas attack. After this, Israel started a war in Gaza.

The northern lights were visible in the sky on the night between Saturday and Sunday. The northern lights were also visible in southern Finland. The northern lights may also be visible in the sky on the night between Sunday and Monday.
