Israel has increased its attacks on Gaza. Israel has carried out airstrikes on Gaza and sent more ground troops to Gaza. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says that the second phase of the war against the extremist organization Hamas has started.

Hamas says that more than 8,000 people have died in 3 weeks in Israel’s attacks on Gaza. The information could not be confirmed from reliable sources.

The UN warns that chaos will begin in Gaza. For example, thousands of Palestinians have broken into warehouses to get food.

A book fair has been held in Helsinki this weekend. The book fair also included plain language literature and plain language authors. At the book fair, for example, it was celebrated that a plain language version of the author Merete Mazzarella’s book Violetti hetki has been made.

Actor Matthew Perry has died. Matthew Perry was a citizen of the USA and Canada.

Perry is known for appearing in the popular television series Friends. Perry’s character was Chandler Bing. Frendit TV series was made for 10 years. The series started in 1994. It was also shown in Finland.

Actor Matthew Perry was 54 years old. He died at home in Los Angeles, USA.

Kalle Rovanperä’s world championship

Toyota’s Finnish driver Kalle Rovanperä has won the world rally championship. The World Rally Championship was decided on Sunday in the Central European World Championship.

This year the rally competition was special because it was run in three different countries: the Czech Republic, Germany and Austria.

The championship is Kalle Rovanpera’s second in a row, i.e. he also won the world rally championship last year. Rovanperä is 23 years old.
